All of us at DJR García are delighted to be celebrating the firm’s first year in business. While many of you worked with Deborah, Gabriel, or Larry prior to 2021 in their individual legal capacities, 2021 marked the first year that these three powerhouses teamed up to form a truly unique law firm centered around health and wellness. We’re grateful for our clients’ trust and proud of our expert, hard-working team. As partners, we’ve experienced a period of remarkable growth, expanded our practice areas and built meaningful relationships with our clients.
In this first year, we’ve delivered superior regulatory counsel to health and wellness businesses charged with navigating a myriad of regulatory changes while providing front-line support during the pandemic. We also offered strategic planning advice, celebrated groundbreakings and business openings, presented at conferences, and led educational webinars. Throughout it all, we reaffirmed our commitment to supporting clients who face unprecedented political adversity, advancing progressive causes, and providing alternative or essential community health and wellness services.
We’re straightforward, dedicated, and passionate about helping our clients meet their obligations and achieve their objectives. According to CFO Gabriel García, “our mission has always been to provide insightful counsel in a way that makes our clients’ lives easier and allows them to focus on their valuable, life-changing work.”
Naturally, launching a new firm in the middle of a pandemic presented unique challenges. “Despite this environment, we knew our timing was right,” said our CEO Deborah Rotenberg. “We discovered that our health and wellness clients found our personal approach and proven experience to be especially valuable during these challenging times, and have expanded their relationships with us as a result.”
Although imminent health concerns are beginning to recede (for now), we will continue to evolve our practice model to best promote our clients’ and our team’s health and safety. Long term, we will support and advise our clients as they navigate ongoing related business impacts and regulatory changes.
As 2021 ended, we bid goodbye to our trusted Of Counsel, Lawrence “Larry” García, who retired from full-time legal work and is now leading his own health care consultancy, García Performance Solutions. We will be forever grateful for Larry’s counsel and leadership.
We begin 2022 even stronger than we started. Today we are delighted to be adding clients, expanding our team, and embracing new challenges. It’s an exciting time for our firm, and we look forward to sharing our work, our accomplishments, and what we’re learning with clients, friends, and family in the years ahead.
