Goodbye…but just for now. DJR García would like to announce that our own Lawrence (Larry) García is stepping away from his role at the firm, having contributed immeasurably to our growth and reputation from the moment of our founding. After 46 years practicing law, Larry will be retiring from full-time legal work and transitioning his focus to his health care consultancy, García Performance Solutions.
On January 27th, we celebrated Larry with a virtual gathering and toast. We shared memories and notes of thanks from friends and colleagues.
Though you may have first met Larry through your affiliation with DJR García, where he worked alongside his son Gabriel (also our co-founder and CFO), he came to our firm after more than four decades of celebrated legal work across every level of California’s health care industry. Over the years, Larry’s thoughtful counsel was integral to several major healthcare mergers and acquisitions and included everything from corporate compliance and conflict resolution to improvement of overall operations.
Most importantly, Larry has earned deep respect from clients and colleagues alike for his kindness, personal sincerity, and commitment to excellence in everything he does. He’s also lived out his sense of responsibility to the greater community, working frequently to improve healthcare access for underserved populations.
Larry’s invaluable counsel, keen insights, and the wide-ranging knowledge he always shared with clients – and our team – will be greatly missed. Though we trust Larry will enjoy his well-deserved “retirement”, we know we’ll see him active both in the healthcare sphere and in giving back to the community in whatever he does going forward.
You’re one of a kind, Larry! Your entire DJR García family wishes you the very best.
